Marci Slater, Associate Broker, Arizona Native

I was born in Arizona (yes, a native!) and was raised in Tempe near the ASU campus. I have watched the Southeast Valley grow for over 50 years and know it very well (Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Ahwatukee, San Tan Valley, Gold Canyon, etc.). I primarily work with residential buyers & sellers in the SE valley, though I am able to assist buyers & sellers throughout the entire Phoenix Metro Valley. OR, I can refer you to great agents all over the state! Furthermore, I have participated in many organizations over 20+ years, and have earned many designations and certifications (ABR, AHWD, CNE, CRS, C2EX, e-Pro, GRI, PMN, SFR) which have allowed me to network with wonderful agents around the nation, too!  Again, I am happy to connect you with those agents, too! Education is incredibly important to me, and helps me take great care of my clients and treat other agents responsibly and respectfully.

I received my real estate license in 2003, my brokers license in 2007.  I owned my own brokerage, Slater & Co. Realty from 2010-2025. In January of 2025 I went back to being an associate broker so I could better focus on my clients and my life long goal of traveling the world. Serving in my community has always been very important to me. I graduated from our local association's Leadership Program in 2012 (SEVRAR, now WeSERV) and have been a RAPAC Major Investor since 2012. I served as a Broker Director on the SEVRAR Board of Directors in 2014-2015, and I served as President of the Southeast Valley Women's Council of REALTORS (WCR) in 2013. I graduated from the AZ REALTORS Leadership Training Academy in 2019, and I served as Chairperson of the AZ REALTORS Professional & Business Development Committee in 2020 (our state association). I have served in & on many other RE committees & focus groups over the years. I am currently serving as the Parliamentarian on the NAHREP Board (National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals), Southeast Phoenix Chapter, 2025.

Before my real estate career I graduated from Westwood High School at the same time I graduated from cosmetology school.  I immediately started working in a salon so I could pay for college.  I earned an AA degree in social sciences from MCC, and then my BS degree in Elementary Education (with a minor in Science) from UND (University of North Dakota) while my husband was stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base, and finally a masters degree in Media/Technology from ASU (Arizona State University) in 2004. I taught for several years in the Chandler Unified School District.  I love spending time with my rescue dog, going on adventures, attending theater and concerts, and will never be ashamed to say I will be a Duran Duran fan till the very end!
